Lydia Joyce, Whispers of the Night

Photobucket
Blurb:When four London Seasons fail to find her a suitable match, Alcyone Carter does the unthinkable and treks across Europe to marry a foreign nobleman she's never met. But on her wedding night, she discovers that her handsome, enigmatic husband is not the man he claims to be — and when a more sinister secret emerges, she escapes from his estate into the darkness rather than live a lie with a man she feels she can never know.

Ignited by his desire and his pride, Dumitru Constantinescu, Count Severinor, risks everything to follow Alcy from the depths of the Romanian forests into the decadent heart of Istanbul. It is there that they will become unwilling pawns in a game that forces them to confront the sensual passion they've discovered — and the dire threat that could cost them their lives.
This one drug on, had so much potential but became slow about half way through. 2 out of 5

Blurb:A thoroughly modern woman…
Daisy Merrick has to earn her living, but she keeps getting the sack. When her rash tongue costs her yet another job, the feisty, outspoken girl-bachelor is undaunted, and she comes up with a plan that could give her a future beyond her wildest dreams. There’s only one problem. Her success depends on a man, the most infuriating, impossible, immovable man she’s ever met.

A most notorious man…
Sebastian Grant, Earl of Avermore, is England’s most famous author, but when writer’s block steals his creativity, Sebastian becomes more well-known for his notorious reputation than his work. When Daisy arrives on his doorstep, hired by his publisher to help him write his next book, Sebastian has no intention of cooperating. The provoking, fire-haired beauty stirs his senses beyond belief, and when collaboration forces them together at his country home, Sebastian knows he has only one way out. Seduction.
Not my favorite in this series, but a good read. 3 1/2 out of 5

Michelle Marcos, Wickedly Ever After

Photobucket
Blurb: After discovering her fiancĂ© in the arms of a courtesan, Lady Athena McAlister comes to a frightful realization: Most men prefer the company of their mistresses to their wives. How can she, and other brides-to-be, become both wife and mistress to a man? In her quest for knowledge, she begs her grandfather to let her start a finishing school for marriageable ladies. There she and her friends discreetly invite London’s most notorious rakes to educate them on the art of seducing a man.

Marshall Hawkesworth’s sister has become far too knowledgeable about the ways of sex, and he suspects that her new finishing school is to blame. Marshall poses as a lecturer on several topics, including sensual kissing, and he soon finds Lady Athena to be a most apt pupil. But before he has her school shut down for good, he’s determined to give her a few private lessons she won’t soon forget.

Jennifer Ashley, The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie

Photobucket
Blurb, It was whispered all over London Society that he was a murderer, that he'd spent his youth in an asylum and was not to be trusted--especially with a lady. Any women caught in his presence was immediately ruined. Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord.
I abbreviated the blurb. I bought this book based on customer review via Amazon. The book could not keep my attention, I did not finish. I found the mystery boring the heroines passion for a man she did not know a little too quick. Maybe if the last book I have read was not one of the best books I've read all year I could have gave this one more attention... Boring 2 out of 5

Grave Goods, By Ariana Franklin

Photobucket

Blurb,England, 1176. Beautiful, tranquil Glastonbury Abbey-according to legend the last resting place of King Arthur-has been burned almost to the ground. The arsonist remains at large, but the fire has uncovered two hidden skeletons, a man and a woman. The skeletons' height and age send rumors flying-could they be the bodies of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere?

King Henry II hopes so. Struggling to put down a rebellion in Wales, he wants definitive proof that the bones are Arthur's. If the Celtic rebels are sure that the Once and Future King will not be returning fro the dead to aid them, Henry can stamp out the rebellion for good. He calls on Adelia Aguilar, Mistress of the Art of Death, to examine the bones.
This is the third Mistress book overall a very good read Franklin has a way with writing characters that are funny and fit their time period 4.0 out of 5 however the first book is still my favorite. Her next Mistress book will be out in April
